A furniture site does not need to know much about you, and this one does not. Here is the whole picture, written the way we'd explain it across the bench.
What ends up on the shelf?
Two things, and only two. If you send a note through the form, we get the name and email you typed plus the note itself. Separately, we may run an audience-counting tool that tells us roughly how many people read each project and whether they came on a phone or a computer — numbers, not names.
What do we do with it?
Reply to your note. Notice which projects people actually use, so we write more of those. Keep the site running and safe. That is the full list; there is no selling, no renting and no handing your details to anyone for marketing. The advertising described below is Google's, and the details of it are laid out further down rather than buried on who you are.
The logs on the shelf
One more thing gets written down that has nothing to do with us: the host keeps standard access logs, which include the IP address of each request, the browser it came from, the page wanted and the time. They are there for security and fault-finding, the host rotates them on its own timetable, and we do not read them to identify anyone.
Cookies?
Only if the counting tool is switched on, and only its own. Block them in your browser if you like — nothing on the site breaks, and the projects read exactly the same.
Where the ads come from
The advertising on this site is served by Google. Google and the partners it works with may set cookies or use similar identifiers to choose which ad to show and to measure whether it was shown. In some regions that choice can take account of pages you visited earlier, here or elsewhere.
Both parts of that are yours to change. Personalised advertising can be switched off in Google's own ad settings, and cookies can be blocked for this site in any browser. The projects read exactly the same either way.
Who else touches it?
The form runs on FormSubmit, which has its own privacy rules; the counting tool, when active, has the provider's. Neither gets anything from us beyond what the form or the counter needs to work.
How long do we keep a note?
Until we've answered it, and then up to a year as a record so we can follow a conversation. Aggregate visit counts stay on the tool's default schedule.
